The First, Second, Third, and Fourth Connecticut Lakes in the far northern tip of the state, along with the Connecticut River and Lake Francis below them, offer some of the best landlocked salmon and brook trout fishing in New England. Best Seasons for Fishing in New Hampshire

New Hampshire's general open-water fishing season runs from January 1 through October 15 on lakes and ponds (with some year-round exceptions and earlier closures on specific waters), and trout streams typically open the fourth Saturday in April through October 15.
